VPK

Elevating Early Education

Our VPK program is designed to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for young children, preparing them for success in Kindergarten and beyond. We are proud to be a part of the statewide FL VPK Program.

Key Components of our VPK Program

Circle Time

This part of the day focuses on increasing knowledge through activities such as learning, listening, and following directions. Children participate in singing the alphabet forwards and backward, counting to a hundred by ones, fives, and tens through songs, engaging in carpet games that reinforce phonological awareness, number recognition, rhymes, compound words, and syllables. Importantly, every morning includes praising God through Bible reading and singing.

Seat Work

Children have the opportunity to experience learning in a conventional setting by sitting at small group tables and completing a variety of worksheets and activitiesQuarterly, teachers assess the child’s approach to learning, curiosity, persistence, and creativity.  The program’s goal culminates with students mastering various developmental standards in content knowledge such as language, literacy, mathematics, scientific inquiry, and arts. Teachers work with students to advance these developmentally appropriate skills (which can look like helping them to use scissors, glue, paint appropriately, hold a pencil, and appropriately identify and write letters and numbers).

Centers

Centers provide hands-on play experiences in areas such as dramatic play, science, art, and writing. These activities are designed to promote individual growth, foster friendships, and encourage teamwork.

Reading Group

The VPK program incorporates reading groups, where students are required to read to their parents for 20 minutes a day after school. Once a child knows all their letters and accompanying sounds, they are placed in a daily reading group with a reading specialist. This dedicated time allows for one-on-one instruction to teach children fluency and comprehension.

Biblical Integration

Immerse your child in a learning environment where every subject leads them towards Jesus. Our dedicated teachers seamlessly integrate the Bible into math, science, and every facet of education, partnering with you to fulfill the biblical mandate of shaping your child’s worldview.

Statement of Authorization
for Inquiry

I authorize the prospective employer to inquire as to my record of any and all persons and of my former employers. In the event of my employment with Cinco Baptist Church/School, I agree to comply with the rules and regulations governing my employment. I have read and understand the Statement of Probation, the Statement of Faith and the Statement of Authorization for Inquiry and I understand this application is not a contract or guarantee of employment.

Statement of Faith

We believe that whatever the Bible says is true – which means that we believe in the inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments. We believe that man was created by the direct act of God, and in the image of God. We believe in the incarnation, the Virgin birth, and the Deity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe in His vicarious and substitutional Atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross. We believe in the resurrection of His body from the tomb, His ascension to Heaven, and that He is now our Advocate. We believe that He is personally coming again. We believe in His power to save men from sin. We believe in the necessity of the New Birth, and that this New Birth is through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the atoning blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that this creed is a sufficient basis for Christian fellowship, and the born again men and women who sincerely accept this creed can, and should, live together in peace, and this it is their Christian duty to promote harmony among the members of the Body of Christ, and also to work together to get the Gospel to as many people as possible in the shortest time possible.

Statement of Probation

It is my understanding that the first three months of my employment are probationary, and if my service is not proved satisfactory, my employment may be discontinued without notice and without prejudice.
